Cam Robichaud
Assistant Coach NCDC/ Director of Player Personnel. Cam brings a decade of coaching experience, training and player
development to the Thunder organization. Entering his 11th season of coaching, Cam has been involved at the youth, midget, high
school, junior, college and minor pro level. Cam is extremely passionate about the game and is a firm believer in individual player
development, both on and off the ice. Cam’s goal is to help every player develop their individual skill set/ athleticism and reach their
full potential as student/ athletes.

Aleksey Nikiforov
Coach Aleksey currently coaches the PAL Jr. Islanders 15U AAA team. He previously coached the New York Junior Bobcats of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League. He is credited with teaching many Long Island hockey products the game. He teaches a European
style of hockey, as opposed to the North American style. This European style focuses on skating speed, puck possession, and puck
movement, while the North American style focuses more on body-checking and overall physical domination. The translation of this
style is apparent in his American-born students such as Chris Higgins of the Vancouver Canucks, Matt Gilroy and New Jersey Devils
2006 NHL Draft pick Tony Romano.

Matt Towers
Coach Matt currently coaches and runs Towers Gymnastics. He has been coaching girls gymnastics for over 15 years. He has had
several of his gymnasts go on to Division 1 and 3 schools. Coach Matt has recently expanded his incorporate strength, conditioning,
mental wellness and nutritional teachings into our other sports. Coach Matt currently trains and oversees several Tier 1 AAA hockey
players with their off ice training programs.

Mark Cole

Bob Thorton
Bob Thornton (Owner and Director of Player Development) – The Elite Hockey Group’s owner and founder.
Prior to his current role, Thornton was an assistant coach of Roanoke Express (ECHL) in 2003-2004. He played in the USHL, OHL and
ECHL throughout his ten year career as a hockey player. From 2005-2015 he was the director of the New Jersey Rockets Junior
program. Thornton graduated from SUNY-Old Westbury with a degree in communications. Thornton also served as the first manager
of the USHL Combines when it began in 2010. Bob has a long and proven track record of developing and promoting talented area
hockey players to the next level.
